So I started diggin’ out all of my old photos so that I could do this challenge. I had my archival pen ready when I thought, “You know they really need to be put into family groups first!” So I started doing that when I thought, “why don’t I mail to my distant cousins some of these pictures that are not of my direct ancestors. That way the child or grandchildren of the people in the pictures can have them. After all even if I label those pictures the kids are not going to have known any of these people in the pictures which means they will probably throw them out.”
So of course I got side tracked yet again on to this new train of thought. So what was the result of all of these brainstorms that I’ve been having?
What you see above are the cards that I found to mail the pictures that I have, or should I say had, to my distant cousins! Of course, before mailing them off I scanned them for myself, at a very high resolution, so that there will be back up of them in case there is a mishap with our postal service. knock wood!
So did I get the challenge completed? No! But, I did get started labeling my family pictures. I just didn’t get all of them done. But I will and that I am glad to be able to say! Hope you enjoyed, glad you stopped by and please come back again ;)
Even though you were sidetracked, it's great that you had the foresight to share with distant cousins. I'm sure it will be appreciated for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteTravis, I do tend to get sidetracked very easily. I have been on the receiving end of pictures of my family that my great-aunt knew her daughter and grandchildren would never know who were in them. I remember how lucky I felt that she passed them on rather than letting them get thrown out. So I thought I would try and "pass it forward" if you will. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
