Treasure Chest Thursday - The cutest doll ever !

I've been wanting to do a post about this doll for some time. This doll was my paternal grandfather's.....that's right I said my paternal grandfather. The grandfather that had this doll was Hurley T. Tharp, born 20 Oct 1914 in Priceville, Hart County, Kentucky.
Grandpa told me when that this doll had been given to him by his parents. I want to say he told me it had been a birthday present. I also vaguely remember that he said he wasn't very old when they gave it to him, like maybe 4 or 5, maybe 6. So I'm totally guessing that she dates to about 1920 or so. I have yet to understand why they gave him a doll but nonetheless it was his.

She is made out of bisque or porcelain, jointed at the shoulders and hips. No maker's mark that I could find and as you can see is a little more than 4 1/2 inches tall.

I think she is just the cutest thing. The dress and underpants were crocheted by grandpa's oldest sister, aunt Flossie Caswell, while she was in the nursing home.

Hope you enjoyed, glad you stopped by and please come back again ;)
